My image-making passion is like a journey back and forth from Philosophy and Film Direction to Photography. As a filmmaker I have produced, written, directed and edited several independent award-winning short films, short documentaries and music videos, and I keep writing stories and realising projects.
In 2014 I moved to Scotland, and here I started to focus on the medium of photography initially as self-taught, fascinated by its potential for different purposes: for instance, as an artistic tool, and/or as a freezer of time-images to document the history and world around us. But then I felt the necessity to deepen theoretically and practically this side of the image-making, and I started the HND Photography at Forth Valley College. An important part of the first year was the Graded Unit. For my HND1 Photography Graded Unit I chose as subject of my research the self-portrait, and one of my photographs from this project has been selected by LensCulture editors to be featured in the Black & White Photography Awards 2020 Competition Gallery.
