Molly Mack

Artist statement

Over the past year I have focused on experimenting and refining works in film, performance and audio. Works have ranged from genres such as documentary, song and spoken word combined to create thought provoking and challenging artworks. Through the creation of alter egos my aim is to combine all my passions into the one medium encompassing, performing, art, music, poetry, and dance. This session I have pushed myself beyond working in my preferred mediums of drawing and painting. I have delved into more provocative murky subject matter using skills developed in film and editing to present highly refined digital artworks.

‘A poem on handed down truths’ focuses on the handed down truths of sexual harassment especially in the workplace and also of beauty standards. My character mimics a lady re-applying her lipstick in the mirror and the thoughts she has every day.
