Artist statement

During lockdown, there was a huge rise in waste and pollution where I take my walks. Around my area I found some upsetting evidence of this. From discarded masks and gloves (things that are supposed to protect us) to waste in rivers and the forest floor covered in plastic. Litter and abandoned scraps, even over-fishing at the beginning of the pandemic have all harmed our environment. Did you know that by September 2042 we could have more plastic in the ocean than fish? In this series, I wanted to bring together the knowledge of the abandonment our government has taken towards the environment.
