In my creative practice I explore themes that seek to uncover our subconscious relationship with the landscape. I am interested the dynamic between nature and our frailty and weaknesses as humans; a continual process of rebalancing and adjusting. I work in dimensional layers crossing between real and imaginary in my installations looking for links with the landscape and returning events that ground us, relationships that may be hidden or distorted in our awareness.
Resilience during the pandemic has been in the background of my thinking this year, focussing on the rebalancing effect of nature, and considering our transition to the post pandemic world outside. This artwork explores the liminal sense of being between two worlds experienced during the transition process, a journey through the distorted edges of real and fiction to the natural world outside.
